Piece created using wetland sounds presented in Switzerland

The work Parque Urbano El Bosque by composer Pete Stollery was selected for presentation at the Ars Electronica Forum Wallis in Goms, Switzerland. The piece was created using soundscape recordings made in Valdivia as part of a field recording campaign carried out in several wetlands located south of the city. The work was later released on a compilation album by the German label Gruenrekorder.

Pete Stollery is a Scottish composer whose artistic practice has long focused on the exploration of soundscape, environmental listening and the relationship between electroacoustic music and place. His work combines field recordings, digital technologies and compositional strategies that aim to expand spatial perception and encourage attentive listening to the sonic environment.
