Soundlapse at the eclipse: a new work by Claudia Robles-Angel

On Wednesday 12 August, ‘Almost Impermanent’ premiered — a new site-specific work by interdisciplinary artist Claudia Robles-Angel, presented during the solar eclipse in Abiego, northern Spain.

Before a small group of specially invited guests, the presentation was an intimate encounter between sound, sculpture, landscape and the eclipse, in which the natural environment was integrated as an active part of the work.

Robles-Angel is an artist born in Bogotá, Colombia, and based in Cologne, Germany, whose work addresses different dimensions of sound and visual art: from acousmatic and audiovisual compositions to interactive installations and performances employing biomedical signals — such as the electroencephalogram — and brain-computer interfaces. Her work has been presented at venues including ZKM Karlsruhe, the Venice Biennale, ISEA, ICMC, NIME and the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, among many others.
